Start for freeIn today's update from Brandon, we reflect on a journey marked by dedication, resilience, and community engagement. It’s been an honor to connect with so many passionate individuals throughout this campaign. While the election results may not have aligned with our hopes, the conversations we sparked about Hosmer, safety, and the voices of Tacoma's underserved communities are victories in their own right. As I officially concede the race to Joe Bushnell, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported this grassroots effort.
This campaign was built on a foundation of genuine connections rather than big donations or endorsements. It’s been an honor to stand as the only Republican candidate in this race, relying solely on the will and energy of real people who share our vision for change. Together, we faced numerous challenges, and while this chapter is closing, the commitment to serving our community remains unwavering. Join me as we look back on this journey and embrace the future, ready to hold those in power accountable and fight for the values we hold dear.
It’s been an honor to run a grassroots campaign
Running a grassroots campaign has truly been an honor, a journey fueled by the passion and dedication of real people rather than big money or endorsements. I chose to forgo traditional fundraising methods, relying instead on the support of the community. This approach allowed us to maintain authenticity and focus on the issues that matter most to the residents of Tacoma. Every conversation we engaged in and every door we knocked on was motivated by a shared desire for meaningful change. This campaign was about amplifying the voices of those often overlooked and giving them a platform to express their needs and concerns.
Throughout this process, I am incredibly proud to have led a team that embodied community spirit. With zero funds and no consultants, we crafted a message that resonated with everyday people. Steph Santoni worked tirelessly behind the scenes, organizing and ensuring we remained steady on our path. Together, we built something real and impactful, finding strength in collaboration and shared values. It’s been an honor to run this campaign, and although the outcome was not what we hoped for, I will cherish the relationships and connections we formed along the way.
Reflecting on the journey: It’s been an honor to connect with our community
Throughout this campaign, I experienced the tremendous spirit of our community firsthand. I engaged in heartfelt conversations with countless residents, sharing ideas and listening to their concerns about Hosmer and safety. It’s been an honor to shed light on issues that often go unnoticed and to amplify the voices of those who feel overlooked in our city. Each interaction strengthened my belief in the power of grassroots movements and underscored the need for genuine representation.
As I reflect on this journey, I am filled with gratitude for everyone who participated. Your passion fueled our campaign and demonstrated the collective desire for positive change in Tacoma. We ignited discussions that matter, laying the groundwork for continued conversations around community safety and accessibility. It’s been an honor to stand shoulder to shoulder with all of you, advocating for a brighter future. This experience has deepened my commitment to our community, and I am eager to keep working towards our shared vision.
Looking ahead: It’s been an honor, but the fight for our values continues
As I step into this new chapter, I remain passionate about serving our community and advocating for the values we hold dear. While the election may not have gone as I envisioned, the issues we brought to light—safety, representation, and the need for accountability—are more important than ever. I will not back down; instead, I will continue to engage with our community and ensure that every voice is heard. This campaign may have concluded, but my commitment to fighting for what matters to us is unwavering.
Our grassroots movement showed the power of real people coming together for a common cause. I encourage everyone who shared this journey with me to stay involved and active in local initiatives. Your belief in a better Tacoma is a force that cannot be ignored. Let’s keep up the momentum, rally around the issues that need our attention, and hold our leaders accountable. Together, we can shape a brighter future for all. It’s been an honor to be part of this movement, and I look forward to working alongside you in the days to come.
