It’s been an honor.
After watching the ballot returns and the numbers settle, I want to offer my sincere congratulations to Joe Bushnell on his victory. I’m officially conceding this race.
While this isn’t the outcome we had hoped for, I’m proud of the campaign we ran and the conversations we started—about Hosmer, about safety, and about giving a voice to parts of Tacoma that often get overlooked.
To my supporters, and everyone who believed in the possibility of something different—thank you. Your time, trust, and energy meant everything.
This isn’t the end for me—just a new chapter. I’ll continue to serve our community however I can, and I’ll be holding those in power accountable. You can count on that.
Congratulations again, Joe. I wish you the best in November—do right by us, go kick Zev’s ass.
also want to point out something important: I was the only Republican candidate in this race. I ran with zero endorsements and raised zero dollars—because I never wanted your money. I know times are tough, especially with the new taxes Bob Ferguson pushed through.
Everything we built was 100% grassroots. No consultants. No big donors. Just real people. And behind the scenes, Steph Santoni was the one grinding, organizing, and doing the heavy lifting to keep us moving forward.
